Caring For Your Oral Health

There has been a lot of talk in the media lately about the effectiveness of flossing. A recent report in the media has claimed that flossing is ineffective. Here at Essenmacher Family Dental, we know that flossing IS effective and should be done at least once a day. Without flossing, you cannot remove the food and bacteria that adhere between the teeth, where your toothbrush can’t reach. This buildup of bacteria can lead to gingivitis, periodontal disease, or cavities between the teeth in at-risk individuals.

How to Floss Correctly

Flossing CAN be ineffective if you aren’t doing it correctly!  Below is a video to demonstrate proper flossing technique.
