How do I know when my dentist is right for me?

How do i pick the right dentist | Albuquerque, NM | Essenmacher Family DentalThere are many dental offices in the Northeast Heights area, and we know that choosing the right dentist for you and your family can feel overwhelming. We believe there are several important factors to consider and questions to ask yourself when selecting a dentist:

Will this dentist treat my entire family?

Not every dentist specializes in or even enjoys treating children, which can be very important to consider if you are searching for a practice that will take care of your entire family. If treatment for yourself and your children is top-priority, make sure to discuss this with any potential office.

Does this dentist have a specialty of any kind?

Many general dentists offer a range of services but specialize in a particular area, such as cosmetic or restorative dentistry. If your family is searching for a particular treatment such as implants or teeth whitening, considering a dentist’s preferred treatment areas can be helpful in making your decision.

How does the temperament of this dentist and their team fit in with my family?

While it may not seem like the most important qualification on paper, many patients report that temperament and personality are some of the most important aspects they consider when selecting a dentist. You and your treatment team will spend a lot of time together over the years, and your experience will be much more enjoyable if everyone gets along!

Dear valued patients,

As many of you know, in response to the recommendations from the American Dental Association and public health orders in place in New Mexico, we have been seeing patients on an urgent/emergency basis only since March 17. As a practice, our first priority is to put the health and safety of our team and community first.

Because the exact trajectory of this pandemic cannot be anticipated, we are unable to accurately predict when we’ll be able to resume seeing patients for regular dental care.  At this time, public health orders prohibiting elective dental care extend until May 15.  However, we will definitely make an announcement on our website and Facebook when normal hours are resumed. We will also be contacting patients whose appointments were canceled so that we can reschedule.

In the meantime, if you have any questions about an upcoming appointment, or have a concern about your teeth that you’d like to discuss, please do not hesitate to call our office.  We are happy to assist you in any way we can.

While we all watch and wait to see what the coming weeks hold for our nation, I pray for health and peace for all of you and those you love.  I know that together, we will get through this. Take care and God bless. Visit our Facebook page for a message from Dr. Essenmacher.

Best Regards,

Dr. Essenmacher
