Children's Dentistry in Northeast Heights NM
At Essenmacher Family Dental, we welcome patients of all ages to our Northeast Heights, NM dental office. Parents are welcome to start bringing their children to our office as soon as they like! The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that your child have their first visit to the dentist by their first birthday.
Your Child’s First Visit
We know when your child is small that what we can accomplish depends very much on their level of readiness and cooperation. Dr. Lindsay Essenmacher and her team love welcoming children to our office and will work with them – and you – to help them become accustomed to dentistry. This allows them to have a positive experience and a better chance at good oral health for a lifetime.
At their first visit, we will go over oral hygiene instruction with you to make sure you get the most out of your home care. We will also do an exam if your little one cooperates, brush his or her teeth, and discuss what to expect as your child grows. We strive to make early childhood dentistry a fun and interactive experience for each of our littlest patients.
Ongoing Preventive and Diagnostic Care for Kids
As your child grows, we will include more preventive and diagnostic treatment to make sure they stay healthy. Regular exams, professional dental cleanings, and diagnostic x-rays are still the best way to prevent, detect, and treat oral conditions such as decay and gum disease.
We will create a partnership with you, the parent, to encourage a lifetime of healthy smiles.
Restorative Dental Treatment for Children
Dental decay is the most common preventable childhood disease, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Most Americans, by adulthood, will need at least one filling. At Essenmacher Family Dental, we offer strong, long-lasting restorations to protect your child’s oral health.
We put your child’s comfort first and offer gentle children’s dentistry to ensure a positive experience every time.
Early Orthodontic Evaluations
If your child faces certain orthodontic conditions, an early orthodontic evaluation could mean less overall treatment time and less invasive treatment for your little one. We will monitor their growth and share any concerns we might have regarding their bite, which can affect their appearance and the function of their teeth in the future once their larger permanent teeth fully erupt.
